BERRY BRANCH
Berry Branch is a floral design studio located in Somerville, MA.
We specialize in flowers or weddings and events. Our additional services include our floral subscriptions, arrangements for everyday delivery, container design services and floral workshops. Since shifting our focus to events, we no longer offer retail hours or walk in sales except for major holidays. Please place an order online for pick up or delivery.
KATIE WILHELM
Katie is the owner & Designer behind Berry Branch . She is an avid gardener, and draws inspiration from the textures, colors and movement found in the garden and the lush New England landscape. She loves all kinds of design and loves that her work responds to architecture and interior design, to highlight each space while simultaneously adding the warmth and color that nature provides. Color is one of Katie’s biggest inspirations and she is always looking to create something bold, bright & beautiful.
SUSTAINABILITY
As florists & gardeners, it’s obvious that we love nature. Like every other agricultural industry, the floral industry isn’t exempt from the logistical burdens that tax our environment. We are far from being completely sustainable, but we are trying.
We compost all of our organic scraps with Black Earth Compost.
We source locally when we can. In New England it’s impossible to source locally 100% of the time but that doesn’t mean we aren’t thinking about it and trying to source American grown flowers.
We GROW what we can! Using our limited urban garden space, we have set out to grow as many textural components and special blossoms as we can. Ask us about our garden progress.
Our favorite designs are made without floral foam. We use it on occasion for tricky situations like a sweltering hot wedding day install but try not to. We use about one box a year.
We are open to new ideas & innovations that would help us reduce our carbon footprint. Talk to us!
